Use Your Voice and Vote! It Still Matters (For Now). Evers and Barnes will help keep it that way
Emily Klein, Lake Mills
I am a woman, a homeowner, a mother, an entrepreneur, a member of a community that I love, and I need a government that will support the needs of the people it represents.
Vruwink for 33rd Assembly District
Steve Tesmer, Fort Atkinson
Don Vruwink is well known and respected by his constituents in Wisconsin’s 43rd district. As a result of the redrawn legislative maps, he is now running in the 33rd district.
Vote for Tony Evers for progress in Wisconsin
Lynn Armentrout, Lake Mills
If you want your government to work for you to improve the economy and protect democracy then vote for Tony Evers in the upcoming election on November 8.
Governor Evers is the people’s champion
Steve Bower, Lake Mills
Now that the Wisconsin GOP has decided on the Trump-endorsed millionaire construction executive Tim Michels, our choice for Governor is clear. Do not elect someone who wants to turn the clock back on workers’ rights and is running to “turn Madison upside down.”
Bye Bye, Social Security
Jim Marousis, Fort Atkinson
Ron Johnson wants to make Social Security and Medicare subject to a vote by Congress every year. Do you want multimillionaires deciding how much your monthly check is?
Encourage candidates to participate in forums or debates
Barbara Lottmann, Watertown
I have a question for the incumbents and the candidates. Will we have the privilege of seeing you participate in a Q & A forum or debate before the November election? I’m tired of the same old campaign slogans and rhetoric.
Voting Rights and Voting Access
Larry Clausius, Jefferson WI
Fair voting access has always been the singular issue that separates our country from the rest, but we are rapidly going down a road where the minority will make decisions for the majority. Gerrymandering, elimination of drop boxes and reducing the number of polling places are just a few of the dangerous recent changes that will have long range effects to our ability to make decisions that will affect our county, state and the country as a whole.
Vote Evers and Vruwink to support education
Mary L. Steensrud, City of Jefferson
Decades of cutting educational budgets left teachers and students deprived of the materials, resources, and courses for a well-balanced education. We need to educate our children about the unlimited possible careers awaiting them. If we don’t, we lose the promise of their talents.
Mandela Barnes will be a leader who protects the middle class
Leslie DeMuth, Lake Mills
In Sen. Ron Johnson’s latest attack on working people, he has suggested that Medicare and Social Security should be eliminated as title programs and instead be subject to annual approval as discretionary spending.
Mike Van Someren for Congress
Ben Adams, Watertown Township
This November we will be voting on who will represent Watertown and Jefferson County in Congress. The incumbent, Scott Fitzgerald, does not represent us.
