Dear Editor,
Almost nothing is more important to a democracy than voting. Yet across our nation, the very right to vote is under attack. Thankfully, Congress is working to pass two bills that will guarantee all eligible citizens the freedom to vote, with no exceptions.
The Freedom to Vote Act will protect the right to vote, decrease the influence of money in politics, and curb partisan gerrymandering. The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act will combat many of the recent discriminatory requirements that make it harder for minorities, the elderly, and youth to vote.
No matter where we live or what our background, Americans want fair elections and to have our voices heard on the issues that impact our lives, like health care, jobs, and education.
