I am proud of our country for its democratic principles, and Americans have been confident in voting since the 1965 passage of the Voting Rights Act. But key protections have been gutted and state legislatures now are free to curb voting as they wish. The fight for our voting rights once again is urgent.

In a few days the Senate is expected to debate and hopefully pass the Freedom to Vote Act. This will decrease the influence of money in politics, curb partisan gerrymandering, and enable practical national standards for access to the ballot.

Call on Sen. Tammy Baldwin (202) 224-5653 and Sen. Ron Johnson (202) 224-5323 to vote YES for the Freedom to Vote Act.
