How did we ever get to this point where nearly half of our great nation supports a candidate for president who was once recorded as saying that he likes to molest women because – “when you’re a star, they let you do it.”
The “Access Hollywood tape” informed all of America as to what kind of a man Donald Trump was back in 2016. Not in our nation’s 248 year history has a president, regardless of his likability, ever been openly accused of a single incident of sexual assault and yet two dozen women have made a spectrum of such allegations against Donald J.Trump.
Unfortunately, only one of these women had the courage and resources to take him, the most powerful billionaire in the world, to court for raping her many years ago. But in July of 2023, after the jury of Trump’s peers heard the testimony of eleven witnesses, they unanimously found him guilty of that assault.
We come to the crossroad where we must ask – was every single one of those twenty-plus women lying or is Trump a sexual predator who lies incessantly? Since the Washington Post fact-checkers found that Trump made a staggering 30,573 false or misleading claims during his four years as president, I‘ll let my objective readers come to their own conclusions.
And I ask, has our country’s moral fiber deteriorated to the point where overwhelming evidence of criminality and blatant immorality are no longer disqualifiers for potential political candidates?
