Every day of the Trump administration has been a assault on our Democracy!
Many of you have already been active in organizing locally and making calls nationally. Thank You!
Well respected national groups like Indivisible, Working Families Party and MoveOn are mobilizing us to take action. Consider building into your schedule calling Senator Ron Johnson, Senator Tammy Baldwin and your House Rep once a week, or maybe more regularly.
Calling, or visiting them in person, is one of the most impactful ways to make your voice heard. Each day staffers tally how many constituents called and what were the top issues of the day and then reported out. Whether it’s thanking Senator Baldwin for standing up for our rights or demanding Senator Ron Johnson do the same, each call is important.
“Mass office calling is a light lift, but it can actually have an impact. A single constituent’s call may not make much of an impact, but multiple calls from constituents coordinated on a single topic is sure to be noticed.” ~Indivisible
You can:
- Use an app like 5Calls to help streamline your efforts. They provide top issues of the day, provide a script and give you the D.C. numbers for your zip code.
- Put the D.C. Congressional Switchboard in your contact list for easy access. Again, scripts are available on line from many organizations. Make it personal if you can but calling is the first step.
- Also, call local Congressional offices. Sometimes their D.C. lines are busy OR voicemail boxes are full. Local offices often connect you directly with a staffer and you’re also likely to be able to leave a message.
We’re in this for the long haul. So take breaks when you need to and ask friends to join you.
