We are sad to announce that the remaining Blue Wave Open House events in Cambridge, Sullivan, and Cold Spring are canceled due to the increase Covid-19 cases and in support of Governor Ever’s recommendations yesterday.

Read on to find out 5 ways YOU can help GET OUT THE VOTE in Jefferson County this week and ensure the Blue Wave overtakes our county and state.

Thank you to our hosts, volunteers, candidates and Blue Wave Riders who so generously donated their time these past two weeks. #BLUEWAVE2020

5 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO GET OUT THE VOTE

1. VOLUNTEER TO CALL OR TEXT VOTERS
Help contact Democratic voters to make sure they get to the polls.
You can sign up to either call or text. You can also request to call using the dialer system or via VAN. Complete this form and either Jalen or Elena will be in touch with you to set you up.
All volunteers receive training and support. Direct contact with voters is the number one way to ensure they get to the polls.

2. SUPPORT OUR LOCAL CANDIDATES
Each of our Assembly Candidates and our Congressional candidate need volunteers as well to make calls and drop lit. You can sign up directly with a campaign via the links below.
In addition, if you have the ability, their campaigns could use your donation – of any size – to help their efforts with buy-in radio ads, social media ads, direct mail pieces and other efforts to reach voters with their message. Please be as generous as you can. Donations to local candidates can make an incredible difference to their campaigns. You can get a snapshot of each candidate on our Candidate Profile webpage.

You can also FOLLOW all of our candidates on social media. Share their posts and attend their virtual events. This Sunday, October 4th at 3pm, the Whitewater Dems are hosting a candidate town hall with candidates Tom Palzewicz, Mason Becker and Don Vruwink. Topics will include Covid-19, Healthcare, Economy, Systemic Racism, Climate Crisis and Gun Safety.

3. PICK UP & POST YARD SIGNS
Our Fort Atkinson & Watertown offices will still be open – limited to 3 visitors at a time. All of the candidates yard signs and the coveted Blue Fish yard sign are available there. You can also pick up candidate literature to share with neighbors and friends.
Hours and address are listed below.

In addition, if you are in a high traffic area, consider making a large sign of your own with a personalized message – Farmer for Biden, Moms for Biden, Vets for Tom, etc. All of this helps get out the word and show our unified support.

4. MAKE YOUR VOTING PLAN & SHARE IT
Do you have a voting plan? If you are voting absentee, have you filled out your ballot and had a witness sign the envelope? Do you know where to drop it off directly (recommended)?
If you are planning on voting in person for Early Voting between October 20 and 30th, do you know your polling place hours? Are your Photo Id’s up to date? If you are voting Election Day, are prepared to wait in line? Do you have child care coverage? Consider all possible scenarios and make sure your plan is set. Then share your plan with friends, family and neighbors over the phone, via text/email or on social media. Inspire others to make a plan too!

5. TALK WITH YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY & NEIGHBORS
We hope you’ll sign up to call or text voters through our GOTV efforts. In addition, you can also make time each day, each week, to reach out to 10 people you know. Call them. Email them. Text them. Send a personal message on Facebook or Instagram. Find a way in the next week to confirm that your friend, neighbor or family member is registered to vote. Make sure they know where to vote and when. And of course, encourage them to vote for our incredible local candidates and the Biden/Harris ticket. If all of us take just a few minutes each day to scroll thru our contact lists and do this, we can make a big difference in voter turn out.
